EPIC Canyoning Symphony: Adagio on the Ropes

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Epic Madeira (@epicmadeira) EPIC Canyoning Symphony ๐ŸŽปAdagioโ€ฆ playing the ropes ๐Ÿชข๐Ÿ’ฆ Programme notes: no conductor, no rush, the river keeps time. First movement is slow and steady, second is mostly laughing, finale is very wet. That’s the bit nobody expects from canyoning. It isn’t all adrenaline. There’s a rhythm to a good team on a rope, a calm you can almost hear, and when everyone hits their notes the canyon sounds like the best concert on the island. Some people buy tickets for that feeling. We just call it work. ๐ŸŽถ Auditions are open, no sheet music required: Beginner Canyoning: 8+, first rehearsal Intermediate Canyoning: 12+, ready for a solo Coasteering: 8+, salty percussion ๐ŸŒŠ Book your front-row seat ๐Ÿ‘‰ WhatsApp +351 913 988 682. Encore on our Instagram. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

No Humans Since the 90s: Where Madeira Still Runs Wild

Last time anyone came down here, the 90s were still on. ๐Ÿ˜ One descent, decades ago, and then nothing. No footprints, no litter, no trace of people. Just a canyon minding its own business while the rest of the world got smartphones. That’s why we keep exploring, new canyons and old ones. Our small island…

Air-Walk Rappelling: Who Needs the Ground Anyway?

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Epic Madeira (@epicmadeira) At some point we just started calling it Air-Walk rappelling. ๐Ÿค” Technically it’s a rappel. Emotionally it’s a stroll through thin air with excellent company and a slightly ridiculous strut. We didn’t invent the move, but the team has definitely perfected the swagger. ๐Ÿ˜Ž The funny part is how quickly it happens to beginners too. First step: wobbly. Third step: legs remember they’re legs. Tenth step: someone’s moonwalking and the whole canyon is laughing. Beginner Canyoning: 8+, first steps off the edge Intermediate Canyoning: 12+, from walking to strutting Coasteering: 8+, air-walking, salty edition ๐ŸŒŠ Runway’s open. Book your slot on WhatsApp +351 913 988 682, see more strutting on our Instagram. ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Quality Time: The Only Kind We Book on a Rope

Quality time. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Not the sofa kind. Not the “scrolling side by side” kind. The kind where phones stay in the van and the only notification is a guide saying “ready when you are”. ๐Ÿชข Ask our team what a good day looks like and you’ll get the same answer from everyone: mostly laughing. A…

You Can Just Do Things: An EPIC Permission Slip

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Epic Madeira (@epicmadeira) You can just do things. ๐Ÿค˜ Wake up early. Skip the sunbed. Trade the to-do list for a harness. Nobody’s going to stop you, and nobody’s going to ask for a certificate either. Every season someone tells us at the top: “I never thought I’d do this.” Twenty minutes later the same person is first in line for the next jump. That switch is our favourite thing in the world to watch. It never gets old. However, for EPIC things, you’ll want the crew: Beginner Canyoning: 8+, your permission slip Intermediate Canyoning: 12+, for when one permission slip isn’t enough Coasteering: 8+, same nerve, saltier water ๐ŸŒŠ Five hours, gear included, excuses not accepted. Just do it on WhatsApp +351 913 988 682. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Canyoning in Madeira with Kids (Yes, From Age 8)

The best holiday stories never start with โ€œso, we were by the poolโ€ฆโ€. ๐Ÿ˜Ž They start with a helmet, a rope and a kid who suddenly refuses to go home. Canyoning in Madeira with kids is absolutely a thing, and it might just be the proudest morning of your trip. So, be honest: whoโ€™s going…

Unfiltered Adventure: When Your Pulse Races the River

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Epic Madeira (@epicmadeira) Zero presets. Zero beauty mode. ๐Ÿž๏ธ Just a heartbeat trying to keep up with a river, and losing, very happily. That’s what “unfiltered” means to us. Nobody poses in a canyon. You’re too busy feeling everything at once: the cold, the noise, that ridiculous grin you didn’t plan. A guest once told me it was the best therapy she’d ever had. I told her therapy doesn’t usually come with a waterfall. She booked again the next year. ๐Ÿ’ฆ Choose your pace: Beginner Canyoning: 8+, 65 โ‚ฌ, your pulse’s first race Intermediate Canyoning: 12+, 80 โ‚ฌ, the rematch The river’s ready. Your move on WhatsApp +351 913 988 682. ๐ŸŒฟ

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Epic Madeira (@epicmadeira) Seixal has stairs. We just don’t use them. ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ’ฆ Island life level: taking the waterfall expressway. No traffic, no tolls, and the only speed limit is how loud you’re laughing. For a few seconds there’s no phone and no to-do list, only gravity doing its job beautifully. Where Only Canyoneers Go: The Hidden Side of Madeira

Sorry, not sorry. ๐Ÿ˜… There’s a kind of place in Madeira that no road reaches. You get there on foot, then on a rope, then by swimming, and by the time you arrive the island has gone completely quiet. These are the places where only canyoneers go. We’d tell you the coordinates, but that would…
