When you think of this subject, certainly you in-visualize a green area with ancient trees and water flowing gently… 

So we present to you today the magical area of Fanal, the place that if Fairies, gnomes exist this is definitely their home…

Since we haven’t had any rain this winter, this is how it’s looking at this time of the year, a bit dry, with not the usual amount of water we’re used to, but as always showing that magical evergreen.

In this rare beauty area, located on the highest plateau in Madeira island (Paul da Serra) you can discover the ancient Laurissilva Forest, which is home to several specimens that predate the discovery of the island. Yes, they were already standing proud before humans came to this enchanted land. 

You have several ways to explore it, but the best is to hike through the several paths around, including the recommended routes like the PR13 and PR14.

Unfortunately, although we may take you there either for hiking or canyoning, we’re not good enough photographers that can really capture the essence of this enchanted forest, so the best thing is for you to go there and explore it, feel it, breathe, live it …
